The Science
Methylene Blue (MB) is an extraordinary molecule that does something amazing and useful. Our cells have powerhouses, like little batteries, called mitochondria. These convert our food into energy in the form of a molecule called ATP (adenosine triphosphate) that can then deliver power in many ways for all the things our bodies do that need energy. This includes the contraction of our muscles, powering our brain activity, making the new chemistry our bodies need for many functions, and for detox and cleansing as well. Thus if we can make more ATP for a given amount of food we get a boost in every aspect of our biology.
Methylene blue does just that in an extraordinary way. In the mitochondria there’s a process known as the electron transport chain. Energy from food is shuttled along this chain and the electrons build the potential across a membrane literally like a battery. This potential difference allows the mitochondria to have the energy to add a phosphate group to ADP (adenosine diphosphate) to make ATP. What MB does in a most astonishing bit of chemistry is provide extra electrons at the final step of the electron transport chain, increasing the potential of the membrane that drives making ATP. This means that for a given input there’s a greater output of ATP. By metaphor and literally, this molecule boosts the voltage of all the batteries in your cells to a higher potential level. All your cells become stronger and more able to do your core biological functions at a higher level.
As the brain at about 2% of body weight uses 25% of our glucose, the effects of MB are felt especially in the brain. Many people using this formula feel enhanced brain power within 1-2 minutes of consuming it. Ingredients
USP grade methylene blue. Other products may use reagent grade which can have heavy metal contaminants.
Phosphatidyl-choline, also known as lecithin. This form of MB is liposomal which can increase delivery to the cells by 50-100%. Other liposomal forms may use polyethylene glycol, or PEG, which can have harmful effects.
Laser enhanced oxygen enriched structured water to amplify the positive effects even further.
How to Use
Each drop contains 1.5 mg of methylene blue. The nootropic level, which means the amount shown to enhance cognitive function, is 30-50 mg per day. Suggested use is 30 mg or 20 drops in a few ounces of water per day to start, preferably earlier in the day. Gradual increased use may further increase the effects. The safe range is .5-5 mg per kilogram per day. The nootropic range will generally keep this at or below the safest end of .5 mg per Kg per day.
